Be curious and courteous, don’t hesitate to ask questions, and always listen twice as much than you speak. Avoid the comfort of talking exclusively with people you already know. If you can help it, don’t spend more than 10 minutes with any single person. When exiting—smile, make eye contact, and say something positive in closing; you may shake hands. Repeat their name back to them at least 3 times before you part.
As with your introduction, you can discuss your business, service, your school major, degrees or anything else that makes you stand out. You can also briefly discuss research, awards or presentations you’ve given.
Don’t repeat anything you mentioned in your introduction, and sometimes, being the dummy in the room allows you to gather an abundance of tremendous knowledge.
